Himalayan Hatha Yoga with Shiva Shankar

 Sunday 17th September

2.30-4.30pm

£25 per person

We are very excited to announce this incredibly special workshop where you will have a chance to learn from Shiva Shankar from Rishikesh in the Himalayas, a real master of the ancient traditions of Yoga.

In this workshop you will explore:

Asana: for all levels of experience with a focus on alignment and deepening your experience and understanding of the scientific, anatomical, physiological, therapeutic and holistic potential of each pose.

KriyaTraditional Hatha Yoga Kriya exercises help to purify and clear blockages and constrictions of the body’s nervous system and more subtle energetic systems.  They help to accelerate transformation for body and mind so that we can become a more powerfully embodied vehicle of evolutionary love, healing and consciousness.

PranayamaAn important part of the overall practice of yoga, Pranayama is the practice of altering and controlling the breath which is a source of prana or vital life force.  When prana flows steadily, the mind is able to remain calm and positive.  Under the experienced guidance of Shiva Ji, you will explore an in depth variety of beneficial pranayama techniques and learn how to incorporate them into daily life.

About Shiva Shankar:

Since the age of nine, Shiva was raised by his spiritual masters in the ancient cave monasteries and ashrams of some of the great yogis, inlcuding Sadguru Swami Chidananda Saraswati, Swami Adhyatmananda, Swami Yogaswarupananda and Swami Veda Bharati.

He also spent and extended period of time living in the Himalayas where he was initiated into the Himalayan tradition.

Shiva now teaches both internationally, including in Europe where he has run and taught on many teacher training courses and has taught people from all walks of life.  He is much loved by his students for his friendly and accessible teaching approach.
